The Highest-Paid Golfers In 2021

Every year we see professional golfers earn more and more cash. This might seem absurd, but it is simply down to the growing popularity of the sport. The more popular the sport, the more money they earn.

And would you believe, golf is actually a sport that has high betting action. Golf is bet on a lot more than you might think. Ok, it’s not the NFL, NBA, or horse racing, but it is still popular in the betting world, and so, of course, golfers make money from this betting action.

You might not yet have considered golf as a source of betting fun yet, but there’s always room to try, if you’re curious have a look at Fanduels golf odds. Anyway, before we get too carried away talking about how betting has influenced the world of golf, let’s find out which golfers in the world have the biggest paychecks.

#1. Tiger Woods.

It’s no real surprise that Tiger Woods is at the top of this list. He’s always been a big dog on the golf scene. He had earned a grand total of $62.2 million, $62 million of this being off-course and $191,000 being prize money.

Woods is currently inactive in competitive golf due to a tragic car accident early this year is still, amazingly, leading the race as the highest-paid golfer thanks to his sheer popularity amongst the youth and the seniors who love golf.

The amazing thing about Tiger Woods is that no matter where in the world we play golf, Wood’s name comes up in conversation at least once. This is something he had gained through sheer dedication and a brilliant technique in the game over many years.

#2. Phil Mickelson.

In second place is Phil Mickelson, with an earning of $46.1 million, with 4.1 million of this being prize money and $42 million being off-course. His name usually comes up when people are talking about the most famed golfers in the world. Despite his age of 50, he still remains to be a charismatic golfer who is well known and well-respected in the world of golf. In recent months even made history by winning the PGA Championship and officially became the oldest golfer to win a major tournament, which is quite the feat to say the least!

Despite him winning the PGA Championship, his total tour earnings were only $4.1 million, but still he earns so much off of the course that this is what makes Phil Michelson the second highest-paid golfer in 2021. Good job Phil!

#3. Dustin Johnson

In third place, we have Dustin Johnson. Dustin earned $40.8 million in recent times. $24.8 million of this came from prize money and $16 million of course.

Before we say anything else we have to note that even though he is in third place, of the three highest-paid players, Dustin is the one who has the largest amount of prize money so far.

Dustin grabbed the biggest payday of his career last year when he gained $15 million for winning the tour Championship and FedEx Cup. The champion of the 2020 Masters tournament claimed $24.8 million. While this was a financial score from 2020, we have to mention it because it is one of the best figures we have seen, and it was a legendary moment for Dustin.

#4. Rory McIlroy.

Rory McIlroy made $32.8 million, with $4.8 million being prize money and the other $28 million being off-course earnings.

He often remains in the spotlight, however, a big chunk of his earnings comes from investments. He is the principal of venture capital firm ‘Symphony Ventures’ based in Dublin. While this is not golf related funds, he is a great example of why you should never put all your eggs in one basket. Have multiple baskets and make it big!
