Tiger Woods unveils line-up for Jupiter Links TGL team

Max Homa, Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner are set to team up with Tiger Woods to represent the four-man Jupiter Links Golf Club team in TGL presented by SoFi, the new tech-focused, prime time golf league set to launch in the US in January next year.

“I have already shared my excitement and optimism for TGL as a league and product,” said Woods, who is part-owner of Jupiter Links Golf Club and co-founder of TMRW Sports, which set up TGL. “Now that we have finalised our roster with a team of world-class golfers, I am even more confident that this group will proudly represent the Jupiter area and connect with our fans for years to come.”

Homa is a six-time winner on the PGA Tour, including his 2021 win at the Genesis Invitational. He has represented the US at the 2023 Ryder Cup, 2022 Presidents Cup and 2013 Walker Cup and is currently ranked no.9 in the world.

“Following Tiger’s career is one of the main reasons that I became an avid golfer. I remember watching him win the 1997 Masters, and now getting to play alongside him has been amazing,” Homa said. “It’s really exciting to call Tiger, Tom, and Kevin teammates. Thanks to TGL, I’ll be able to play with some of the best golfers in the world and bring this unique and exciting format to golf while also finding ways to connect with one of the best golf markets in the country in South Florida.”

South Korea’s Tom Kim is one of the most exciting young players on the PGA Tour

Kim is three-time winner on the PGA Tour and is currently ranked 22 in the world. His first PGA TOUR victory came at the 2022 Wyndham Championship when he was just 20 years old, making him the second-youngest winner on the PGA Tour behind Jordan Spieth. The 22-year-old from South Korean starred at the 2022 Presidents Cup when he joined the International Team for the first time and then won for the third time on the PGA Tour at the Shriners Children’s Open to become the youngest three-time tour winner since Tiger Woods in 1997.

“I GREW UP BEING INSPIRED BY TIGER WOODS”

Kim said: “I am so excited about playing in the TGL format with this group of guys. Obviously, I grew up being inspired by Tiger Woods, but Max and Kevin are genuinely good guys and both also have a similar competitive fire. It will be incredible to join these guys as teammates. To talk strategy with Tiger in a true competition is something I never dreamed could happen.”

Kisner is a four-time PGA Tour champion and two-time participant in the Presidents Cup. The 40-year-old’s last victory came at the 2021 Wyndham Championship, while he also won the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in 2019.

“I feel very privileged to have played in the Tiger era. Having the opportunity to compete against and alongside him has been one of the things I’ll remember most at the end of my career,” Kisner said. “While I know we will have a lot of fun as a team with me, Tiger, Max and Tom, I also know when Tiger’s competitive fire kicks in, we are going to be ready to play and win. This is the perfect team to bring both fun and competition together at the same time. Can’t wait.”

Kevin Kisner’s last PGA Tour win came at the Wyndham Championship in 2021

The Jupiter Links GC team has been invested in by US entrepreneur David Blitzer, whose company, Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, owns, co-owns OR has stakes in a wide portfolio of sports teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils, Cleveland Guardians, Washington Commanders, Crystal Palace FC, Major League soccer team Real Salt Lake, and the Utah Royals of the National Women’s Soccer League.

Jupiter Links Golf Club has unveiled its team logo, which combines a palm tree with a golf flag, and includes the name of the team in a handwritten font, and is meant to give off a ‘Florida beach vibe’.

TGL presented by SoFi is a new team golf league that fuses advanced tech and live action with six teams of PGA TOUR superstars and will launch January 7, 2025 in prime time on ESPN and ESPN+. SoFi Center will be TGL’s custom-built arena in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida., on the campus of Palm Beach State College. Technology is a foundational element of TGL, offering fans a progressive, shorter format presentation of team golf.

The six TGL teams include Atlanta Drive GC, Boston Common Golf, Jupiter Links Golf Club, Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club, and the final team in San Francisco with each team featuring four PGA TOUR players.
