Tyrrells Wood Golf Club in Leatherhead is hosting a summer open day on July 13, where visitors will be invited to see what this historic Surrey club has to offer.
The club’s management is challenging golfers and non-golfers of all ages to pick up a club, meet the staff and members and raise some money for local charities along the way.
With beginners taster sessions, back-to-golf refreshers, junior activities and masterclasses, there will be something for everyone to try, including a fun putting challenge against the men’s and ladies’ captains in aid of The Princess Alice Hospice and The Mid Surrey Dementia Trust.
Heading up the Summer Open Day will be Assistant PGA Professional Joanne Taylor, who has recently been helping TV and Heart Radio presenter Jenni Falconer on her golfing journey from absolute beginner to taking part in the Pro-Am at the European Tour’s Golf Sixes event. Taylor, who runs the innovative love.golf programme at Tyrrells Wood, will be on hand with help and advice for everyone at the open day, from experienced players to beginners.
The Summer Open Day starts at midday on Saturday, July 13, with half-hourly sessions running throughout the day.
