Growing golf course operations company Pin High Golf has expanded its portfolio in the South East following the purchase of Traditions Golf Course in Surrey from Crown Golf.
The new owner has outlined sizeable investment plans scheduled for the West Byfleet-based venue, which first opened in 1999 and boasts a 6,300-yard parkland course designed by Peter Allis and Clive Clark. Predominantly operating as a pay and play venue, the course is renowned for having among the best-conditioned greens for a public course.
Pin High has already drawn up plans to undertake substantial investments to improve the condition of the course and the facilities in the clubhouse. This includes plans to renovate the bunkers, improve course drainage, upgrade machinery, and bring in a whole new fleet of buggies. Further investment will also be made in the bar and shop areas.
Speaking about the acquisition, Pin High Golf’s managing director, Tony Healy, said: ‘I’m absolutely delighted that we have been able to add Traditions to our portfolio. This course feels extra special to me, as this was the base for one of my first senior roles within American Golf. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the club to witness the big changes that will be taking place. We will also be re-branding the club, and look forward to involving the local community in the process of finding a new name for it.”
