Chislehurst Golf Club in Kent will once again be welcoming brothers from all over the UK this summer, as they battle it out to be crowned the best amateur golfing siblings.
The Brothers’ Annual Amateur Foursomes, which takes place from June 7-8, will be celebrating its fortieth anniversary this year and competitors are already dreaming of glory. With a return to the original foursomes format throughout to mark the occasion, golfing brothers will be able to look forward to much more than two days of competitive foursomes matches.
Chislehurst Golf Club captain for 2018 and former co-winner of the tournament, Robert Finlay, said, “We are really excited about the Brothers’ competition this year. We’re really looking forward to seeing some familiar faces back for the contest and we know it’s going to be one to remember.”
The tournament, conceived in 1979 under then captain Peter Boult, has enjoyed a steady popularity throughout its history. Whilst support for this competition sees entrants journey from far and wide, some of the keenest backers of the event can be found amongst the Chislehurst staff and members.
“The Brothers’ has a unique atmosphere, it’s one of my favourite
events to be involved with,” enthused Event Coordinator, Alice French. “The team this year are more geared up than ever to make this the best Brothers’ Open to date. May the best brothers win!”
The two-day format will see pairs knock out for a chance to play in the final on the Friday afternoon. Those eliminated along the way will still enjoy two days’ of golf as they compete in the parallel element of the competition.
Applicants for entry are asked to visit the Chislehurst Golf Club website at www.chislehurstgolf.co.uk or contact the Brothers’ Open Admin Team courtesy of [email protected].
