Team US has won the last six Junior Ryder Cup matches

US announces team for Junior Ryder Cup in Rome

The US Junior Ryder Cup team for next month’s matches in Rome has been announced.

The 2023 Junior Ryder Cup takes place from September 26-28, with the first two days of foursomes and fourballs being held at Golf Nazionale, before the final day’s singles are played at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, host venue of the 2023 Ryder Cup.

The 2023 edition of the Junior Ryder Cup marks the first time the event will take place over three days instead of two, with the Ryder Cup venue hosting the decisive singles matches.

The US team, which is seeking its seventh consecutive victory, features six boys and six girls who are members of the high school graduating class of 2024 or younger.

This team includes 2023 Junior PGA Championship winners Gianna Clemente and Miles Russell, as well as 17-year-old twins Anna and Billy Davis. The remaining players are Leigh Chien, Kylie Chong, Ryleigh Knaub, Yana Wilson, Jackson Byrd, Nicholas Gross, Will Hartman, Jay Leng and Miles Russell

At just 14 years old, Russell is two years younger than any of his teammates. The teenager from Florida won this year’s Junior PGA Championship by seven shots and has also won the TaylorMade TP5 Junior All-Star and Moon Golf Junior All-Star in April.

“I am incredibly proud of these 12 exceptional individuals who comprise the 2023 US Junior Ryder Cup Team,” said US Junior Ryder Cup captain Paul Levy. “These players have worked tirelessly to earn a spot on our team and will represent our country with great pride and determination. As we prepare for Rome, I am eager to see our team compete on a worldwide stage and showcase the best of the next generation of US golf.”

The six boys and six girls to represented Europe at the Junior Ryder Cup will be announced by team captain Stephen Gallacher shortly after the conclusion of the R&A Amateur Championship for Boys & Girls on August 20.
