The three Virgin Atlantic PGA South Order of Merit Qualifying Schools held at Sand Martins, Mid Kent and Kingswood delivered 60 qualifiers their guaranteed places alongside the exempt players.
In the first Q School at Sand Martins, Cuddington’s Paul Schunter carded a five-under-par 65, pushed almost all the way by Guy Woodman with a 67, and David Callaway with a 68.
Moving on to Mid Kent, Richard Tinworth fired off an impressive six-under-par 64, while St. Augustine’s David Ledingham and Birchwood Park’s James McGilvray both shot 66 to tie for second spot.
At Kingswood, it was Eastbourne Down’s Maria Tulley’s turn to the spoils by beating all the men with the only sub-par round of the day, a two-under-par 70. Trailing by three shots, Pentland Golf’s Steven Mitchell tied with Romsey’s Elliot Groves on 73 for second spot.
