PGA TOUR players Patrick Cantlay, Wyndham Clark, Lucas Glover, Min Woo Lee and Kevin Kisner have been unveiled as the final players to complete the 24-man line up that will take part in the new Tech Golf League that has been set up by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy that is launching in January.
The TGL is new made-for-TV golf league that fuses advanced tech and live action with six teams of PGA Tour stars across a season of matches that will be broadcast on prime time on ESPN and ESPN+ in the USA from January 9.
The matches, which involve a series of long and short game challenges, will take place in a specially-made arena in Palm Beach, Florida. The league will consist of 15 matches (one per week). After the regular schedule, semi-finals and finals will be played.
In addition to Woods and McIlroy, the roster of players also includes Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Matt Fitzpatrick, Keegan Bradley, Shane Lowry, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Xander Schauffele, Max Homa, Cameron Young, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood, Rickie Fowler, Tom Kim, Sahith Theegala and Billy Horschel.
TMRW Sports founder and CEO Mike McCarley, who set up the TGL with Woods and McIlroy, said: “This is a milestone day for all of us at TGL presented by SoFi. To add five players of this calibre and finalise our inaugural roster of 24 PGA TOUR stars who will comprise our six TGL teams furthers our momentum for our first event in January.”
