Buckinghamshire golfer Rose Bee Kim has won the English Girls’ Under 14 Open Championship after compiling a 54-hole total of five-over-par at at Morecambe Golf Club in Lancashire.
A final round 76 gave Kim an eight-shot win over Imogen Williamson and helped go some way to make up for the disappointment of losing out by a single shot to Patience Rhodes in last week’s English Girls’ Under 18 Championship.
“It means a lot to me – I wasn’t expecting it, ” said Kim.”To have this title is a dream. I started well today but the weather was brutal. The wind always seemed to be against you. This win gives me confidence to know that I have the ability to play like this and make expectations higher for myself.”
