Captain Gwladys Nocera has announced the 12 girls that will be representing Team Europe at the 2024 PING Junior Solheim Cup.
The tournament will take place at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia between 9-10 September.
Following the conclusion of the final qualifying event, the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship, the top six ranked players eligible for selection were confirmed for the team ahead of the away trip to Virginia.
Team Europe are aiming for a hat-trick of wins after defeating USA 15-9 at La Zagaleta, Spain, last time out.
Spain’s Andrea Revuelta, a two-time PJSC winner, topped the standings with 155.00 points. The 18-year-old was victorious at the Spanish International Ladies Amateur Championship and is currently ranked 11th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. She will head to the States as the squad’s most senior player.
France’s Louise Landgraf qualified in second position on 153.94 points. The rising star won the ANNIKA Invitational Europe and made history in 2023 when she became the youngest player to win on the LET Access Series (LETAS) at 14-years-old.
She is joined by three French compatriots, with Sara Brentcheneff, Alice Kong, and Lily Reitter all set to make their PJSC debuts at Army Navy Country Club. The latter defeated Landgraf 2&1 in the final of the French International Lady Juniors Amateur Championship.
Denmark’s Victoria Kristensen is the final automatic qualifier after picking up 85 points.
Nocera, alongside vice-captain Dewi Claire Schreefel, had six captain’s picks where the criteria used was the PJSC rankings alongside results from all amateur events and the European Women’s Amateur Golf Ranking.
Another Dane, Benedicte Brent Buchholz, will make her PJSC debut alongside Kristensen. Swedish duo Molly Rålin and Havanna Torstensson also make the team and will look to follow in the footsteps of an abundance of successful Swedes in the competition.
Three other debutants complete the line-up, with Italy’s Paris Appendino, Spain’s Martina Navarra Navarro, and Iceland’s Perla Sol Sigurbrandsdottir afforded picks by captain Nocera and vice-captain Schreefel.
Nocera commented: “For the second time in a row I will be leading the PING Junior Solheim Cup Team, and this time in America alongside Dewi Claire. I’m very proud and cannot wait to be there having a wonderful time playing and fighting our hearts out. The team is looking forward to representing Europe and adhering to all its values we care so much about. This group of young girls is pretty impressive and full of surprises. Let’s go Europe. Allez!”
