The staff at Bush Hill Park Golf Club in North London is celebrating after the venue was voted the UK’s Golf Club of the Year at the 2019 Club Mirror Awards.
Bush Hill general manager Stewart Judd and his management team attended the gala awards ceremony held at Doncaster Racecourse in Yorkshire on November 28, where they were presented with the award in front of an audience of over 650 club industry professionals drawn from all elements of the sporting world.
Clubs are judged on a wide range of criteria, including course condition, facilities and customer service, with Bush Hill having been judged to have excelled in all areas.
Stewart Judd said: ‘This is award is testament to the vision, investment and hard work the club has undertaken in recent years to drive it forwards, and we are all proud to receive this honour.
“Bush Hill celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2020, and this is the perfect way to mark our fantastic heritage, while also being recognised as a modern, forward-thinking and inclusive golf club.”
Among the many recent improvements at the Enfield-based club include the installation of a new state-of-the-art irrigation system, with its 300 remote-controlled sprinklers enabling head greenkeeper Graham Careford to micro-manage water resources to ensure the 5,776-yard James Braid designed parkland layout is in superb year-round condition for members and visitors.
