SkyCaddie’s new LX5 GPS Smart Watch, which goes on sale this month, features the same technologies found in its SX family of handheld rangefinders, but in a wrist-based device.
Featuring a 3.5cm full colour touchscreen, the LX5 comes pre-loaded with over 35,000 course maps, all of which of been ground-mapped on foot to ensure absolute accuracy. SkyCaddie’s HoleVue with Dynamic RangeVue offer graphic views of the hole ahead, while IntelliGreen Pro provides the exact green shape and yardages from your approach angle.
Using the Zoom-In and Slide Crosshair action, golfers can access yardages to any critical point on the hole via the touchscreen. For golfers that just want to glance at the critical numbers when they reach their ball, there is the ‘Big Numbers’ display, as well as a target list so you still have an idea as to what lies ahead.
Weighing 65g, the LX5 is water-resistant and boasts a rechargeable Li-Polymer battery that lasts up to two rounds and more than three days in time mode. It allows you to score as you play and track stats such as total score, total putts, fairway hit or miss, greens in regulation and much more. Other key features include the ability to measure how far you hit each shot to learn club distances, multiple tee box options, gender selection, and a digital scorecard.
Two replaceable silicon bands are included, while the LX5 also offers multiple watch faces and time-related functions for when you’re not on the golf course, plus a heart rate monitor and step counter with distance walked.
The LX5 is built around the SkyGolf 360 Cloud platform, providing wireless connectivity for golfers to upload performance data. SkyGolf 360 allows golfers to keep all performance data regardless of whether it comes from a rangefinder, swing sensor, performance tracker or a launch monitor in one place.
