Min Woo Lee wins Scottish Open

Australian Min Woo Lee won the Scottish Open after beating Thomas Detry and Matt Fitzpatrick in a play-off at Renaissance Club in East Lothian.

Last year’s ISPS Handa Vic Open winner set the clubhouse target of 18 under par after a bogey-free final round 64, which included six birdies in a row from the third hole. He was joined on that number by Detry and Fitzpatrick, who each carded 67s to force a three-way play-off.

Lee hit his approach on the first extra hole inside ten feet and, after watching Detry and Fitzpatrick miss their birdie chances, made the putt to secure his first Rolex Series title and earn a place at this week’s Open Championship at Royal St George’s alongside Detry and England’s Jack Senior, who earned the third available spot.

Lucas Herbert, Ryan Palmer and Ian Poulter shared fourth on 17 under, while Jon Rahm followed his win at the US Open three weeks ago with a seventh-place finish.
