LIV Golf announces field for third event with Stenson, Kokrak and Howell III added to the roster

Henrik Stenson is one of four new signings announced for the third LIV Golf event

LIV Golf has announced the field for its third event of the season, the LIV Golf Invitational Bedminster, which is being held at Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey, USA from July 29-31.

The field includes four newcomers to the series in Paul Casey, Henrik Stenson, Jason Kokrak and Charles Howell III.

Casey, 44, has played in five Ryder Cups and was ranked as high as No.3 in the world back in 2009, shortly after he won the BMW PGA Championship. His most recent win came at the Dubai Desert Classic in 2021.

Stenson has also won 21 times on tour and amassed 149 top-10 finishes. A member for five Ryder Cups, the 46-year-old Swede, who is currently 171st in the world ranking, was due to captain Europe for the 2023 matches in Rome, but has been stripped of that job following his move to LIV Golf. Stenson will join Majesticks GC, captained by Lee Westwood.

Kokrak, an 11-time winner on tour, has earned more than 40 top-10 finishes throughout his career. Currently 36th in the world ranking, the 37-year-old Canadian will compete on Smash GC, captained by Brooks Koepka.

Howell III has amassed 102 top-10 finishes throughout his career, including three wins. He has been ranked as high as 15th in the world, but currently lies at 173rd, having not won on tour since 2018. The 43-year-old American will play for Team Crushers GC led by Bryson DeChambeau.

The field in New Jersey will represent 12 different countries and feature 11 past major champions with a combined 21 major victories, four former world No.1s and nearly half of its competitors currently ranked in the top 100. As in the previous two LIV Golf events, players in New Jersey will be competing for a $25 million prize fund, split between $20m for the individual event and $5m for the team event.
