Can the Seagulls’ foursome rise to the Betway Golf Challenge?

Brighton & Hove Albion FC are currently enjoying their fifth consecutive season in the Premier League, following their promotion at the end of  2017, and look destined to remain in the top flight of English football despite enduring a recent run of reversals.

Despite having only scored 26 goals from 30 games, their middle table position in the league is largely down to their defensive unit, which has only shipped 36 goals, one fewer than Tottenham, who currently sit in fourth place.

But while Seagulls defenders Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy and attacking midfielders Adam Lallana and Pascal Gross have shown themselves to be pretty decent performers on the football pitch in recent seasons, what are they like with a golf club in their hands?

To find out, the quartet set out to settle the scores in a special golf match, The Betway Golf Challenge, with Dunk and Lallana pairing up to take on teammates Duffy and Gross in a series of on-course challenges to whittle down who’s the best golfer ahead of the Masters finally getting underway today.

Played at West Hove Golf Club, which is located just a few miles from Brighton’s Amex Stadium, the challenge involves plenty of banter, some non-textbook golf swings, and some surprising results, as the fantastic four take on longest drive, closest bunker shot and nearest-the-pin contest.
