A rising star in the world of junior golf, Florence Martindale (9 years old) has proudly represented Cumbria on the international stage at the Daily Mail World Junior Golf Championships.
Competing in her first overseas tournament at the stunning Villa Padierna Flamingos course in Spain, Florence showcased her exceptional talent among some of the best young golfers from around the world.
Playing on a challenging mountainous course, Florence’s highlight moment came during her second round, where she eagled the first hole with a stunning 30ft putt.
She also birdied her favourite hole, the 9th, multiple times, mastering its precision-demanding tee shot. The tournament provided her with an unforgettable experience, allowing her to test her skills against an international field while making new golf friends from countries such as Japan, Morocco, and the Philippines.
Florence finished an impressive Top 5 in the tournament, an outstanding achievement for a player of her age competing at an international level. Proudly wearing her The Big Golf Company kit, she demonstrated incredible composure, skill, and sportsmanship throughout the championship.
Florence’s journey was made even more special with the support of cumbrian based The Big Golf Company committed to growing the game of golf and supporting young talent.
Chris North, CEO of The Big Golf Company, said:
“Upon reading the news that Florence had made it through to the Daily Mail World Junior Golf Championship, we were keen to support her—not only because we are a Cumbrian-based business, but also to encourage more young girls and ladies to take up golf and experience the joy it brings.”
