NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNTY GOLF CLUB ANNOUNCE NEW HEAD PROFESSIONAL

Northamptonshire County G.C. has announced the appointment of Mark Norton as Head Professional,  following the retirement of Tim Rouse after 34 years at the club.

Norton, who takes on the role after 13 years as number 2 brings with him a wealth of qualifications and experience.

After graduating in the top 30 assistants and second place for golf coaching (out of 250) in 2004, Mark joined Luffenham Golf Club as PGA Professional where he implemented a highly successful junior coaching programme.

Since joining Northamptonshire County G.C. Mark has held a number of prestigious positions including Northamptonshire Golf Limited (NGL) County Boys Academy Coach 2011-2019 and was the Northamptonshire Golf Limited (NGL) County Girls Head Coach from 2013- 2019.

He was Northamptonshire PGA Captain 2019-2021 and is also the current Midlands PGA Captain.

Out-going Head Pro Tim Rouse completed his PGA training in 1979, on qualifying at Lilleshall spent three years as the head assistant professional at Stoke by Nayland in Suffolk, before taking on his first role as Head Pro at Coventry Hearsall Golf Club.

Tim joined Northamptonshire G.C. as Head Professional in 1990 and in 2023 a successful career was crowned when was invited to become the 83rd Captain of the PGA.

Martin Jaffrey, Club Chairman, commented “After more than three decades Tim leaves a fantastic legacy, and we thank him for his fantastic work in developing the

shop, studio and coaching facilities at the club. His breadth of experience has been invaluable to the club and its success “.

Tim will remain attached to the club as an honorary member and will be involved in coaching a few of his private clients.

He has been an outstanding professional and coach who is well known for his work with Paul Broadhurst on the Champions Tour.
