Golfers who making an equipment rental booking with Clubs to Hire this week stand to get all of their money refunded if Rory McIlroy finally manages to get his hands on the green jacket.
The Irish-based company is offering a full refund of the cost of hiring a set of clubs from any of its outlets across the world if McIlroy wins the 88th Masters, which tees off at Augusta on April 11.
Bookings have to be made between April 10 (today) and 10pm (UK time) on Saturday, April 13.
McIlroy tees off at 3.42pm on Thursday afternoon in the company of world no.1 Scottie Scheffler and reigning Olympic champion Xander Schauffele.
Tony Judge, managing director of Clubs to Hire, said: “It’s very straightforward for golfers – they simply book a set of clubs with us via our website – www.clubstohire.com – for the rental of a set of clubs in the future and if Rory wins this weekend we will send all clients a voucher for the value of their booking.”
Clubs to Hire could stand to refund over £45,000 to golfers if McIlroy manages to complete the career grand slam as the firm takes a lot of bookings during Masters week, which traditionally heralds the start of the new golf season in the UK & Ireland.
Judge added: “We would normally get about 600-plus bookings during Masters week, but with our Masters offer in place that could rise to well over 1,000.”
Clubs to Hire offers the latest rental sets of clubs from all the top manufacturers, including Callaway, PXG, TaylorMade, Srixon, Mizuno, Cobra and many others. It has at 26 locations worldwide, including popular golfing regions in Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Ireland, UK, Dubai, Mauritius, South Africa and five countries across the Mediterranean.
